MPEI continues cooperation with CIS intergovernmental bodies

On January 6, 2024 the delegation of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council visited MPEI to hold a working meeting with its Rector, Nikolay Rogalev. The delegation was headed by the Chairman Taras Kupchikov accompanied by Alexander Ilyenko, Deputy Chairman and Olga Frolova, Director of the Strategy Department.

The parties discussed topical issues of international cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation in the energy sector and prospects for the next year, emphasizing the importance of communication between the Commonwealth states.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close project cooperation aimed at the development of integration in the CIS in the strategically important industry. This should contribute to the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth countries, as well as stimulate the industry development as a whole.

To achieve success in ensuring sustainable economic and social development MPEI continues to develop communications with leading experts of the CIS.

The CIS Electric Power Council was established by the intergovernmental Agreement on Coordination of Interstate Relations in the CIS Electric Power Industry dated February 14, 1992.

By the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of Government dated October 30, 2015 MPEI was approved as the base organization of the CIS member states for training, professional retraining and advanced training in the electric power industry.
